What is the 10,000 Black Business Program?
The Minnesota Black Chamber of Commerce created the 10,000 Black Business Program (10K BBP) to encourage entrepreneurship by supporting and investing in Black business owners. It is a transformative business accelerator designed to empower and support Black-owned small businesses across Minnesota.
MBCC is committed to providing a supportive and intentional experience in the areas of business development, entrepreneur training, technical assistance, and networking opportunities.
What are the three phases of the 10K BBP?
The 10K BBP meets business owners where they are. Launch serves early-stage owners who need management, branding, legal, and accounting help. Grow serves owners building sales, marketing, client acquisition, and operations. Scale serves established businesses with monthly recurring profit that want to grow revenue, hire, and sharpen product-market fit.

What services does the 10K BBP provide?
Participants can access four core services through the program: help establishing a business, technical assistance and training through cohorts, one-on-one business coaching and mentorship, and business expansion or start-up grants. Premium members can also apply for quarterly micro-grants from $500 to $5,000 each.

Who is eligible for the 10,000 Black Business Program?
Businesses must be at least 51% Black-owned, have gross revenue of $1 million or less, and be headquartered in Minnesota. Preference is given to MBCC premium members, though basic members and nonmembers may apply.
Can I apply for more than one business?
No. Individuals who own multiple businesses may submit an application for only one business.
Who reviews 10K BBP applications?
A grant selection committee of MBCC staff and MBCC board members reviews every application. Grow and Scale applicants also complete a business verification review.
What does the 10K BBP offer?
The program offers business establishment assistance, technical assistance and training, business coaching and mentorship, and business expansion or start-up grants.
